Satish Kaushik breathed his last on March 8, after suffering a heart attack, he was laid to rest as Bollywood mourned his loss
Veteran actor Satish Kaushik’s sudden passing came as a shock to everyone. He was cremated at the Versova Crematorium in the presence of his admirers, friends and family. At the age of 66, he passed away due to a heart attack when he was visiting a friend in Gurugram, Delhi. After a post-mortem was done at Delhi's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, his mortal remains were brought to Mumbai through an air ambulance.
According to a report by Indian Express, the actor was cremated at 8:15 pm on Thursday in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities gathered at his house to say their final goodbye. From veterans like Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Sam Kaushal to Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and more reached the actor’s residence in Versova to pay their last respects. Shedding light on what actually happened on the night of March 8th, Kaushik’s secretary was quoted by the media publication saying, “Satish ji went off to sleep at around 9.40 pm last night and called me to say that he was feeling restless around 10.00 pm. He is survived by his wife Sashi and their 10-year-old daughter Vanshika.
For the unversed, Satish Kaushik was an alumnus of the National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. After starting his career in theatre, he went on to make a name for himself in Bollywood as an actor, director, producer, screenwriter and a comedian. He has movies like Mr India, Deewana Mastana, Brick Lane, Saajan Chale Sasural, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Prem, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and Tere Naam among many others to his credit. He will be last seen in Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency.
