West Bengal recently braced Cyclone Amphan that affected many in a way we can't even imagine. Many got homeless and the state suffered a major loss of infrastructure. Quite a few celebrities extended support and expressed shock over the destruction caused by Cyclone Amphan on social media. Shah Rukh Khan, who is the owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders has now come forward to help those in need in West Bengal. The actor who is also the brand ambassador of West Bengal has not just made a monetary contribution, he has gone out of his way to help people on-ground.

The official Twitter handle of Team KKR announced that a team of members will help people in areas like Kolkata, North and South Parganas and Purba Medinipur that are the worst affected by the cyclone. This is happening under an initiative called KKR Sahayta Vahan where volunteers will make sure that essentials and hygiene products reach the stranded. The tweet made by KKR read, "The people of #Kolkata and #WestBengal have embraced #KKR and extended their love and unconditional support over the years. This is a small effort on our part to provide some relief to those affected” - @VenkyMysore."

 On May 22, post Cyclone Amphan, SRK had tweeted, "My prayers, thoughts & love to those affected by the devastation caused by cyclone Amphan in Bengal & Odisha. The news has left me feeling hollow. Each & everyone of them is my own. Like my family. We must stay strong through these testing times until we can smile together again."
