Shaheen Bagh Firing: Sonam Kapoor Condemns, 'Stop This Divisive Dangerous Politics, It Fuels HATE’
The tension amid Delhi, in the wake of CAA and NRC, is only escalating with each passing day. Not very long ago, we came across the tragic news of a young man opening fire at Delhi’s Jamia Millia, wherein a student was injured. Yesterday, a similar mishap took place at Shaheen Bagh, where the protests against CAA and NRC are on in full swing. The gunman, who was chanting, ‘humare desh mein sirf Hindu ki chalegi,’ opened fire bullets and was immediately arrested by the Delhi Police. These back-to-back incidents have brewed a storm across the country and many people, including celebrities, are expressing their shock and anger.

One such case is that of actress Sonam Kapoor, who took to Twitter and urged people to not to spread hatred in the name of religion. Reacting to the Shaheen Bagh firing, an upset Sonam Kapoor wrote, “This is something that I never imagined would happen in India. Stop this divisive dangerous politics. It fuels HATE. If you believe yourself to be a Hindu then understand that the religion is about Karma and dharma and this is not either of those.” (ALSO READ - Sonam Kapoor Recounts Her ‘Scariest Experience’ While Travelling With Uber London, Writes, ‘I Am Super Shaken’)

As soon as Sonam shared her two cents, she started getting trolled by a section of netizens. Well, the actress had quite some befitting replies. She replied, “It’s my faith. And you need to learn it. This is not the practice of Hinduism. This is the religion of HATE,” to a comment that read, “U don't teach us what's our religion and how to treat.” Next, the actress wrote, “I understand more than you do because I’m not blinded by hate but guided by hope and love. It makes my vision clearer and my mind stronger. I hope you find peace in your sad tragic life. Om shanti!,” to a tweet that asked her to refer to the tragedies that happened with the Kashmiri Pandits.
