Shahid Kapoor’s Father Pankaj Kapoor Makes His Literary Debut With Dopehri
Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor has become an author. He has made his literary debut and it took him 27 years to pen his first novel.
Shahid Kapoor’s Father Pankaj Kapoor is an actor, director, screenwriter, story writer. Now its time to add another feather to his hat as Mr Kapoor is set to make his literary debut. Pankaj Kapoor has now become an author who recently penned down a new book, titled, Dopheri. During a recent interview with Indian Express, Pankaj Kapoor talked about his experience writing the book. He said that the idea of Dopehri from a stage play to a novel was brought about by his actor wife Supriya Pathak.
She was the one who had contacted a literary agent. Supriya’s hard work brought it, through Kanishka Gupta, to HarperCollins. While talking about the book, he said, “It is a very strange feeling. I will not say I feel proud but it is very heartwarming. This (the book) is for good. My grandchildren can read this and it will make me very happy if people read and enjoy this.” He also said that he wanted the audience to know this is an actor who is also a writer. Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Kabir Singh. Though the film was pitted against a lot of controversies, the film is considered to be one of the highest-grossing films of this year. After basking in all the love and success from one South remake, the father of two will be next seen in another South remake, titled, Jersey.
The Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri, who also helmed the original Telugu version starring Nani in the lead role. The first look of the same was also released a few days ago.
