Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh Defeats Avengers: Endgame In The Run For The Most Searched Movie On Google In 2019
Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh beat one of the highest-grossing movies of all time Avengers: Endgame, in the list of top 10 most searched films on Google in 2019. Kabir Singh tops the list followed by Avengers Endgame, Joker, Captain Marvel, Super 30 and more
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Shahid Kapoor performed exceedingly well at the box-office and went on to break several records. The blockbuster hit and Shahid’s performance in the film were lauded by many, however, a section of the society criticized the film for being misogynist and glorifying toxic masculinity, abusive relationships. Many celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Taapsee Pannu and others also expressed their opinions about the film. Irrespective of all the criticism though, it was a huge success at the box office. And now, the film has also defeated one of the highest-grossing movies of all time Avengers: Endgame, in the list of top 10 most searched films of the year.
Google India recently released its annual list of ‘2019 Year in Search’, and its trend list includes Top 10 most searched films of the year. Kabir Singh topped the list, and we are sure the criticism, as well as the fan following of the film, contributed to it being the number one searched film. The film is a Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy and they are both directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Following Kabir Singh, is Avengers: Endgame, Joker, Captain Marvel, Super 30 and others.
