OTT platforms have become a rage nowadays. Apart from seeing theatre artists and Television actors, big Bollywood stars are also making their web debut. Stars like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Radhika Apte, Abhishek Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Sushmita Sen, Karisma Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kiara Advani and more, in recent years, have delivered power-packed performances in web series that have now gained a cult status amongst the audience. Joining the bandwagon, Shahid Kapoor is said to be joining the OTT platform for a big action-packed thriller film. The film is expected to go on floors mid-next year after the completion of his upcoming film, Jersey.
 
According to PeepingMoon.com Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in an untitled project in which he will be essaying the role of Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, who was one of the most important person in the operation. The story is based on the Operation Cactus the Indian government launched in the Maldives islands in 1988. The operation was launched to prevent a coup by a group of 200 Sri Lankan militants against then-President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Moreover, the actor has also signed a multi-film deal with the streaming giant. Aditya Nimbalkar will make his directorial debut with this action-thriller film. He earlier assisted Vishal Bhardwaj in films like Kaminey, Haider, Rangoon and more.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor will be next in Jersey which is a remake of a Telugu film with the same name. The actor essays the role of a cricketer. The shooting of this film is yet to finish as it came to halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
