Shahid Kapoor Wants To Follow Kabir Singh’s Work Pattern For His Upcoming Projects
Shahid Kapoor’s last release Kabir Singh showcased a mind-boggling success at the box office. Hence, the actor has now confessed to following similar work patterns for his upcoming films as well. While signing on the dotted lines for Kabir Singh, the actor never expected it to be a milestone for his career
The massive success of Kabir Singh at the box office has ultimately made Shahid Kapoor feel accomplished in his career. Crossing Rs. 250 crore mark at the ticket window, just made the actor more responsible in terms of his upcoming movies. Not solely taking away the entire credit for the movie’s success; the actor admits that while he signed on the dotted line, he didn’t expect the film to be a huge hit. Going ahead the actor also aims to follow the similar process, letting him achieve a kind of success in his career.
In conversation with Hindustan Times, he said, “Usually, an actor’s film does ₹70 crores and then ₹100 crores, then ₹140 crores and ₹170 crores, and finally ₹200-crore plus. But my solo films never went above ₹70 crores and now, it’s straight at ₹280 crores (smiles).” Dipping his toes into Bollywood as a background dancer with Subhash Ghai’s Taal, he marked his silver screen debut with the movie Ishq Vishk in the year 2003. Kabir Singh happens to be the actor’s first highest-grossing film of his Bollywood career. Hence, going ahead he confesses of following this certain pattern of work, he says, “At the same time, I feel I have had a certain work process which got me here. So, there’s no need to change it. On the concluding note, the actor wants to remain true to his work and nothing else. “ Otherwise, what tends to happen is you start overthinking (on scoring such a big hit) and ‘Ab main kya karoon’. Currently, the actor is preparing to star in yet another Bollywood remake of a hit Telugu film, titled Jersey. Portraying the role of an individual who at the age of 36 wants to prove himself to his son and the world, by getting back to the game of cricket. Scheduled to release in August 2020, the movie stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
