Sanya Malhotra instagrams an image of the entire cast and crew of the biopic Shakuntala Devi, announcing the wrap of the movie’s first shooting schedule in the UK. Starring Vidya Balan in the lead role of Shakuntala Devi, this biopic directed by Anu Menon will release in the Summer of 2020
Announcement of Vidya Balan stepping into the shoes of Shakuntala Devi, a super human computer just stormed the internet. Joining the bandwagon was also actress Sanya Malhotra set to portray her onscreen daughter. Now comes a news of the film wrapping up their UK shooting schedule, Sanya shared this news on her official Instagram handle. Sharing a picture with entire cast and crew mentioning about the wrap up of the film’s first shooting schedule and eagerly waiting for next schedule to kick start.
Her caption read, “And it’s a wrap!! Looking forward to the next schedule!! 🙌🏻 #ShakuntalaDevi .” Vidya has also been sharing some pictures of the scenic beauty of UK on her Instagram stories ever since she started shooting for the film. The teaser of the movie was unveiled by the makers in September explaining what made Shakuntala Devi stand apart from the rest for her unique talent. Directed by Anu Menon, the film will have actor Jisshu Sengupta playing her onscreen husband Paritosh Banerji. Shakuntala Devi’s real life husband was an IAS officer from Kolkata; duo later got separated in 1979.
This is Vidya’s second biopic of her filmy career after The Dirty Picture, where she portrayed the Silk Smitha, who was popularly known for her erotic roles in the films.
The actress had made an official announcement of signing the film on her Twitter handle in the month of May. Her tweet read, “BIG DAY! Excited to play the role of Math Genius, #ShakuntalaDevi. @vikramix @anumenon1805 and I are thrilled to bring to life the true story of 'the human computer' - a small-town Indian girl, who took the world by storm! @Abundantia_Ent In theatres - Summer 2020”
The movie is releases in Summer 2020.
