Shefali Shah opens up about facing sexism from her mother-in-law and shares incidents that left her baffled
Shefali Shah is an actress whose presence is enough to expect a lot from the film. An artist of sheer brilliance who can ace any character be it wearing a uniform for her role as DCP in Delhi crime or giving a mind-blowing performance in her latest release Human. Besides her acting prowess, the actress is also known for making candid confessions. Shah recently opened up facing sexism from her in-laws and also shared incidents that left her baffled.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Delhi Crime actor spoke about facing sexism in her own family which left her puzzled. Recalling one such incident, Shefali said that once she was questioned about the odd-shooting schedule by her in-laws and she was surprised to learn that such questions were never asked from her husband. She was quoted as saying, "I'm not blaming anyone, they say stuff, and I'm just like 'okay.' Like I remember when Vipul goes to shoot, obviously nobody questions. But when I am shooting continuously, it's like 'again you have to go to shoot today?' I'm like 'are you serious, did I just get asked that question?', how come that question is never asked of your son. She also addressed one more incident where her mother-in-law was unhappy and discomfort when his son and Shefali’s husband Vipul Shah was doing dishes at the home. Recalling the situation, the actress said, "I remember once Vipul was doing the dishes, my mother-in-law was standing behind him. And I remember her saying- 'itna bada director bartan ghas raha hai .I thought it was so hilarious, and I am thinking in my mind 'ye actress bartan ghas rahi hai ye khayal kabhi nahi aayega”.
Shefali has been basking high in the success of her latest OTT release Human which showed the world of medical scams. She will next be seen in upcoming films like Darlings, Doctor G, and Jalsa.
