The movie in question already stars Yami Gautam and Diljit Dosanjh. The two actors will be sharing screen space for the first time. When reports of the duo teaming up for this project came to the forefront, Taurani had stated that they were hunting for an actress who could play the second leading lady. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, the producer had said, "Yes, Diljit and Yami have given their nod to the film. It’s a fresh pairing and we are excited because both are competent actors with impeccable comic timing. It is a sensible comedy and revolves around a couple."
He added, “We also need another actress who has a crucial role to play in the narrative. The casting should be locked soon.” So now we know, the search is over. The gorgeous Shilpa it is in the film! Her last memorable appearance was in the song Shut Up And Bounce from Dostana in 2008. She was also seen in a special appearance in the song Mere Type Ka Nahi from the film Dishkiyaoon (2014).

She recently wrapped up the first schedule of Bala that also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in it. Diljit, on the other hand will be seen in Arjun Patiala opposite Kriti Sanon and Good News that stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani.
