Shobha De's Tweet On Marathi Films Lands Her In Trouble
Novelist Shobha De's tweet against the Maharashtra state government's decision to make it mandatory for all  multiplex owners to screen a Marathi movie during prime time has landed her in hot soup.

Shiv Sena MLA  Pratap Sarnaik has filed a notice of breach of privilege against De after she tweeted protesting the Maharashtra government's decision.

The tweet read:

According to Culture Minister Vinod Tawde: “We are in the process of enacting a law to make it mandatory for multiplexes to screen Marathi films during prime time”

It means that now the multiplex should dedicate a screen to Marathi films during prime time. Till now the prime time has not been decided yet, but the prime time according to multiplex owners is from 6 p.m to 9 p.m.

Many  Bollywood celebrities have tweeted and welcomed this decision and appreciated the brighter side saying that it will help to grow Marathi culture based movies. Naturally, they don't endorse De's viewpoint.

However, an official from a leading multiplex in Mumbai (on request of anonymity) told SpotboyE.com, "Look, we can't go on record to opine on De's tweet. The whole thing is that we can do nothing about the state government's decision except abide by it."
