It is being reported that a Bollywood actress has registered an FIR against a movie financer for molesting her and giving her death threats
Day-by-day horrendous stories surrounding casting couch have been surfacing the internet. While many celebrities are openly talking about it during their media interactions, some have gone forwards and pressed charges against the accused. As reported by India.com, a Bollywood actress, whose name has been withheld, has filed an FIR against a movie financer at the Juhu Police Station.
According to the media publication, the complaint states that the accused has allegedly molested the actress under the pretext of giving her money for a video. When she revolted, the accused started verbally assaulting her and went as far as to give her death threats. An investigation on the case has been started. Mumbai police has registered the case under sections 354, 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Over the years, many actresses have opened up about such horrific incidents they had to go through as they didn’t have the right connections. Recently, Malayalam actress Malavika Sreenath had opened up about her traumatic past. She had told a YouTube channel that she was called for an audition for the role of Manju Warrier’s daughter in a film. While she refrained from naming the movie or the harasser, she shared that she never spoke about the incident to anyone. Having made a name for herself in the past three years, she revealed she can discuss it as she has a space in the industry.
