Bombay High Court alleges that Jiah Khan's mother Rabia Khan is trying to delay the trial by insisting that her daughter’s death was a homicide
A few weeks ago Bombay High Court dismissed Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia’s plea seeking reinvestigation in her daughter’s suicide case. The court declined her petition saying they have full faith in the CBI agency that probed the 9-year-old case. Now as per the latest reports, the Bombay High Court has alleged that Rabia Khan has been trying to delay the trial by insisting that her daughter’s death was a homicide. However, the court ruled that they are sure that CBI’s probe in the case was fair and impartial.
As reported by PTI, the Bombay High Court said in its order that Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan is just trying to procrastinate and delay the trial. The court added that Jiah’s alleged suicide case investigated by CBI was completely impartial. The report mentioned that while Rabia Khan alleged that Jiah was murdered, after a detailed investigation from all angles, CBI declared it a case of suicide. The court said, “Repeated insistence of the petitioner (Rabia Khan) to procure a finding from the court that death of the victim (Jiah Khan), in this case, was homicidal and not suicidal is a clear indication of procrastinating the trial. This conduct of the petitioner amounts to unnecessarily procrastinating and delaying the trial which is in progress before the trial court. It appears that petitioner wants this court to return a finding in her favour that the death of the victim was homicidal and not suicidal, even before the trial is over.”
For the unversed, Jiah Khan, known for her performance in Nishabd, was found dead at her Mumbai home in 2013. CBI found a three-page suicide note where she talked about suffering at the hands of actor and then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi.
