Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one such actor who made a successful mark not just in Bollywood but also in Hollywood. After winning hearts in Hindi cinema, PeeCee debuted in the West and took it by storm with her acting prowess. In a recent interview, the actress revealed why she decided to go away from Bollywood. Priyanka asserted she was tired of politics in the industry and that she was being pushed into a corner in the Hindi cinema. Not just that, the Baywatch actress even stated she had people not casting her.
During her appearance on the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Priyanka was asked what made her seek work in the US. Replying to this, the desi girl said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”
Priyanka went on to add that her debut music video in Hollywood opened new doors for her as it gave her a chance to go beyond boundaries. After the music video, she got a big break with the international series ‘Quantico’ which was a big hit. PeeCee since then has been unstoppable! On the personal front, the actress is currently enjoying her motherhood phase. Last year, she welcomed her first child, a daughter through surrogacy with her husband Nick Jonas. Announcing the arrival of their baby girl, the couple said in a statement, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
