Shonali Bose’s upcoming flick The Sky Is Pink is inching close to its release. Lead pair Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar are on a promotional spree hopping major cities and making appearances on various TV shows. While promoting the film, director Shonali, who has been vocal about losing her son at a very early age, collected her thoughts to remember the difficult time.
During an exclusive interview with The Indian Express, the director was heard saying how the grief of losing her son drew her to narrating the story of Aisha Chaudhary. This very grief of her life made the director write and direct the film. Further mentioning her son Ishan’s death taught her to accept both in her life happiness as well as sorrow, which is failed to accept after losing her mother at a very early age in her life. Inspiring the filmmaker to pen a film based on the life of Aisha who is suffering from pulmonary fibrosis.
Shonali’s The Sky Is Pink was screened on Toronto International Film Festival which received a standing ovation for the terrific performances of the actor and the story as well.
Movie also reunites Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar after Dil Dhadakne Do on the silver screen. Just yesterday the duo unveiled The Wall of Love in Bandra. During the movie promotional phase, makers had announced a contest about putting the best messages on the wall sent by the people to their loved ones.
