Ayushmann Khurrana is currently having the best time of his life after delivering great performances, bagging awards and basking in the success of his out of the box films. On the other hand, Khurrana is currently gearing up for his film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and has been promoting the movie in full swing. As Ayushmann’s film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is based on the concept of same-sex marriage, just a day before the film releases, in an interview recently, Ayushmann reveals he was once borderline homophobic in his life.

In the film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen playing the role of a gay man, while the movie is set to deliver a crucial message on homosexuality with a dose of laughter. As the film releases in theatres tomorrow, in an interview with BollywoodLife, Ayushmann Khurrana spoke about the first time he came to know about homosexuality and much more. Talking about his first time of getting to know about homosexuality, Khurrana shared that he does not remember much, but he was in school, early teens maybe.

The Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan actor added how he was not very receptive, but saw the transition in his thought process over the years when he moved to Delhi and Bombay and met people from the community. He said, “I was not very receptive. I was not very progressive in my thought process. I was probably borderline homophobic.” Ayushmann Khurrana went on to share how he became more sensitized when he met people from the community and realized he was a fool back in the days. Ayushmann then went on to share how he thinks that the transition he went through, any average Indian homophobe can through it as well.


Talking about the film finally, Ayushmann Khurrana then went on to share that even if they manage to bring about a change with the film, it will be a huge victory. Meanwhile, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Gajraj Rao apart from Ayushmann. The film is directed by Hitesh Kewalya and produced by under the banners Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series.
