Parineeti Chopra was left angry and frustrated by Sidharth Malhotra for his cheeky and offensive answer
Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra make for an adorable on-screen jodi and the duo impressed the fans with their impeccable chemistry in Hasee To Phasee. However, contrary to their on-screen appearance, Sidharth wasn’t kind to Parineeti and he even ended up making her uncomfortable during the promotions of the film.
A Reddit user left the internet in disbelief by sharing a throwback video of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra from one of the promotional events of their then-upcoming film, Hasee To Phasee. In the clip, Parineeti and Sidharth can be seen sitting on the stage and interacting with the media.
During the interaction, a journalist asked Sidharth about the reports of him gaining weight for his film, Ek Villain, and enquired how he was planning to achieve it. Listening to the question, Parineeti looked excited to know about her co-star's strategy to manage the requirements of his role in the film.
However, in a split second, Parineeti’s reaction changed and she looked angry and frustrated by Sid’s cheeky and offensive answer.
Responding to the question, Sidharth shared that Parineeti was struggling to lose weight and he wanted to lose weight. Instead, he would ask her how to gain some extra pounds, and thus, they both would help each other.
Naturally, Sidharth's answer did not go well with Parineeti and she looked quite uncomfortable with Sidharth's remarks and her expression changed instantly. She was also seen adjusting her clothes as she became conscious about her body.
Apart from Parineeti, Sidharth’s sly comment on Parineeti Chopra's weight didn't go well with the netizens as well. They stormed the comment section and slammed the actor for fat-shaming Parineeti.
Reacting to the video, one user wrote, "Her whole facial expression and body language changed as soon as he said it. What a thing to say, and that too in a public forum." Meanwhile, another netizen commented, "It clearly affected her. She took 2 years off to lose weight when she was thriving and her career after that just went downhill."
Cut to 2023, Sidharth Malhotra is happily married to his wife, Kiara Advani, while Parineeti Chopra is all set to tie the knot with AAP leader, Raghav Chadha.
In a previous interview, Parineeti had confessed that one of the biggest problems she faced when she was overweight was dressing up. She was sick and tired of ill-fitted clothes as she had limited options.
However, the actress also mentioned that initially, she paid less attention to her weight, thinking she could get away with her acting skills alone. But, soon she realised that being a part of Bollywood requires good looks, a toned figure and brilliant acting skills, and she started her weight loss journey in order to look good on screen.
