Sidharth Malhotra, who was recently roped in as New Zealand's tourism ambassador, has left for the land of the Kiwis to fulfil his new role.
The actor, who is on an eight-day trip to the country, was spotted at the Mumbai airport today.
He has the distinction of being the first Indian celebrity to be appointed to the role.
Sidharth had been looking forward to this trip ever since he was made the tourism ambassador. "I have heard from friends about the many activities that New Zealand offers. I am a traveller, who believes in experiencing everything that a destination offers, and New Zealand has so much to offer. I am gearing up for some hardcore adventures such as skydive, skywalk and diving, and I can't wait to experience the local wildlife of the country," he had said in a statement.
He had gone on to add, "I have also heard about the food, wine, and the Maori culture the country offers. My fans in New Zealand have already reached out to me and I look forward to interacting with them."
