This led to a tiff between the two. A week ago, both decided that they should rather take a step back for now, and decide only later if they want to continue their relationship.
On December 3, Arjun had tweeted: Have u ever wondered how relationships change so quickly...almost over night...one minute it's all good & in the other it's a royal mess...
A source close to Sonakshi and Arjun says, “This tweet by Arjun was with reference to his changing equation with Sonakshi.”
News of Sonakshi-Arjun affair started surfacing when they started shooting for Tevar, an upcoming film which stars them in lead roles
A month ago, the two were spotted on a movie date in a Juhu multiplex.
There was also news that the duo took a trip to Istanbul with a few friends to spend time with each other.
Earlier, Arjun was rumoured to be dating his Ishaqzade heroine Parineeti Chopra. During 2 States shoot, he was linked to Alia Bhatt.
However, before entering the film industry, he was in a serious relationship with Salman Khan's sister Arpita. The duo dated for two years. Last month, Arpita married Aayush Sharma, whom she was dating since 2011.
