Sonali Bendre Talks About Surviving Cancer And Making Her Comeback With ‘The Broken News’: ‘I’m Looking The Best I Have Ever Looked’
Sonali Bendre has finally ended her hiatus following her cancer recovery. The actress can be in the ZEE5 web series, The Broken News, and she will be seen alongside co-star Jaideep Ahlawat, Amina Quershi and Dipankar Sanyal. In fact, her latest web series The Broken News is only her second fiction project since her last film Shankar Dada MBBS in 2004.

Now, Sonali Bendre has opened up about her ordeal with cancer and how she proudly owns the changes her body has undergone after surviving the dreaded disease.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Sonali Bendre opened up about her desire to play a character her age, without it being sad as she feels she's now looking the best she ever has, especially after what she's incurred.

She says, “I wanted a character which is my age. Without it being sad, I think I’m looking the best I have ever looked, if I may say that. I’ll tell you why. Especially after what I have been through, I see beauty in the imperfection and I feel that the lines I have on my face, I have earned them.”

The 47-year-old confessed that she sees beauty in the imperfection and feels that she's earned the lines on her face – the actress thinks they tell a story and she finds them very beautiful.

“I think they tell a story and I find that so beautiful. And not just on my face. I have always found faces with lines on them more attractive because I think they tell stories. Otherwise, it’s like a blank canvas, which doesn’t excite me.”

In fact, she reminisces how she's always found faces with lines on them to be more attractive because she believes they tell stories, while those without lines strike her as a blank canvas, which doesn’t excite her.

Interestingly, Bendre has made a comeback to acting after over seven years and ‘The Broken News’ marks her second fiction project since her last film Shankar Dada MBBS in 2004.
