Sonam Kapoor’s Mumbai baby shower was scheduled for July 17, at Miss India Kavita Singh's home in Bandstand, Mumbai.
Bollywood’s ‘It’ couple, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are all set to welcome their first baby. Following the good news, even Anil Kapoor had expressed his excitement for the same and the Kapoor family was all set to host a baby shower for the mommy-to-be. All the preparations were completed at the event scheduled for July 17, at Miss India Kavita Singh's home in Bandstand, Mumbai. However, the intimate yet grand event was called off due to COVID-related issues.
A recent ETimes report shared that the event was called off a few hours ago following the COVID-related troubles. The report quoted a source close to the Kapoor family who were eagerly looking forward to the baby shower and had been preparing for it for a while now. In fact, customised hampers were also sent to invited guests. However, there were concerns about the spread of the virus and which is why the family decided to avoid any risk for the mother-to-be and her baby.
Reports also suggest that fashion designer Sonam’s BFF Masaba Gupta was to design the boho-themed baby shower for the couple. Both, Sonam and Masaba share an amazing bond and are friends since childhood.
For the unversed, Sonam returned to India for her second baby shower in Mumbai, and she was spotted with a baby bump in a bright yellow dress on Thursday
Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor were all set to host a grand baby shower party for their daughter.
Swara Bhasker, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora, Alia Bhatt, Natasha Dalal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Deepika Padukone, Masaba, Rani Mukherji and more celebs including Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah were expected to attend the event.
Earlier, Sonam celebrated her baby shower in London with her friends and she even shared a few inside glimpses for her fans and followers on social media. It also had a customised menu, napkins and gifts for all the guests. Well, the actress was planning something similar in Mumbai as well, but unfortunately, the event was cancelled.
Sonam and Anand tied the knot in May 2018. They announced their pregnancy in March 2022.
