Veteran actress Zeenat Aman left the internet divided when she advised her young fans to experience live-in relationships before getting married to their partners. In her post, she explained how she even told her sons to follow the same so that they could get to know their partners better. While the netizens expressed their contrasting views in the comment section of her post, it was the reactions of her acquaintances in the Hindi film industry that have become the talk of the town.

Mukesh Khanna of Shaktiman fame spoke against the idea of live-in relationships and how it is against our culture and history just like veteran actresses Saira Banu and Mumtaz. He dissed the 72-year-old actress and stated that she had lived her life according to Western civilization from the beginning. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, he went on to add, “Just imagine if a boy and a girl live with each other like husband and wife before marriage, and they do not get along well, then imagine what will happen to both of them. Now, Soni Razdan has come out in support of Zeenat’s viewpoint and mocked Mukesh for his statement on a couple not getting along together before marriage if they stay together. Taking to her official X handle and commented on the actor’s interveiw, she wrote, “Gosh. Can’t imagine what would happen if a couple live together in a ‘live -in’ relationship and don’t get along. For the unversed, taking to her Instagram handle, the Yaadon Ki Baaraat actress wrote, “Here’s a personal opinion I haven’t previously shared - if you’re in a relationship, I strongly recommend that you LIVE TOGETHER before getting married! This is the same advice I’ve always given my sons, both of whom have had, or are in, a live-in relationship. It just seems logical to me that before two people get their families and the government involved in their equation, they first put their relationship to the ultimate test. I’m aware that Indian society is a little uptight about “living in sin” but then again, society is uptight about so many things!”
