Sooryavanshi And 83 Postponement Meeting Ends In A Stalemate- EXCLUSIVE
The meeting that was held at Rohit Shetty's office to decide whether to push ahead the release date of films Sooryavanshi and 83 has ended on a stalemate. No decision could be arrived at
It was all happening at Rohit Shetty’s office in Andheri West, today. We were the first to bring you the news this morning that a meeting of '83.and Sooryavanshi representatives was taking place with Reliance Entertainment, the producer of both- to decide on whether to push the release date of both the films, owing to the Coronavirus health scare.
We had kept a close tab on the meeting and now we have learnt that the dynamics and modalities could not be worked out, at least not today. The main debate that kept going back and forth was how to restrategise where to place the films as far as the release dates are concerned, vis-a-vis the competition and the number of screens available.
We also hear, they are going to observe the box-office trend of the recent release Baaghi 3 starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, especially the drop in the Monday business to gauge how the audience has taken to the health scare. But, the source says that might not be the right way to judge.
One more problem is if the release date of these films is postponed and if the Coronavirus outbreak increases, it woud only backfire. Both the movies are looking very good at the moment. Is the risk worth taking?
The source states that if it backfires, it could heavily impact the collections of both these films (Sooryavanshi, 83) and therefore they kept going back and forth on this discussion. Eventually, till evening, they dispersed and no unanimous decision was taken.
