This morning, Rohit Shetty took the audience by surprise when he announced the latest addition to his cop universe. On the occasion of Jackie Shroff’s birthday, the filmmaker announced his name as the latest add on in Sooryavanshi led by Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar. In an interesting move, Rohit Shetty who was keen on roping in the actor in has reportedly roped in senior Shroff at last minute. Taking to Instagram, Shetty shared a candid picture and captioned, “Just when you thought you knew all the characters of Our Cop Universe...Presenting to you The Man Himself...JACKIE SHROFF... And...Surprise Abhi bhi baaki hai mere Dost @apnabhidu #sooryavanshi”
Spilling the beans on the same, a source close to the development revealed to Mid-day, “Jackie's addition came as a surprise to the unit. His scenes were filmed in Ooty recently. Neither Akshay nor Katrina Kaif featured in the sequence. Jackie shot with Abhimanyu Singh, who plays the primary antagonist. The scenes were designed to establish his character in the story. As Jackie Shroff turned 63 today, son and actor Tiger Shroff shared a throwback picture, while wishing him on his birthday. Captioning the photo, Tiger wrote, “Prob wont ever be as cool, talented, goodlooking, effortless, loved(list goes on)as you! But one things for sure you’ll never be as proud of me as i am of you. Happy birthday daddy @apnabhidu.”
On the other hand, actor’s wife Ayesha Shroff too posted a loving wish for the husband. Sharing a TB picture from the a film’s set, Ayesha wrote in caption, “Happy birthday kiddo!!! May this year be the BEST EVER!!! @apnabhidu @tigerjackieshroff @kishushroff” Sooryavanshi, which will see Ajay Devgn making a cameo role, will hit the screens on March 27, 2020.
