Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi which is touted to be one of the biggest anticipated movies of this year is all set to make some noise this month. After the trailer was released, fans couldn’t stop praising the trailer which also clocked them 42 million views in just 24 hours. Guess, now you can understand the magnitude of the film. Plus, it makes Sooryavanshi a worth watch is because Rohit Shetty is bringing his other police force – Simmba Ranveer Singh and Singham Ajay Devgn – from the cop-verse in this film. As fans couldn’t wait for the film, there is this one section is bashing the director of the film. Why?
Rohit Shetty reportedly made a comment on his leading lady Katrina Kaif and soon had to face the wrath of the fans. According to TOI, in a recent interview, Rohit Shetty passed a statement on Katrina Kaif that no one will watch her when Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn are in the same frame. This statement evoked a stir amongst Kat’s fans and fans slammed the director for his statement which made them trend ‘shame on you Rohit Shetty’ on Twitter. The question was raised in the context of a scene where Akshay, Ajay and Ranveer are sharing the same screen and in that scene Katrina wanted another retake since she blinked during the blast in the scene and wanted to perfect it.
But reportedly, instead of taking a retake, the director chose to go with that shot and told her ‘no one is going to look at you’ – he said in the interview. However, Kat fans didn't appreciate it much. One of the users wrote, “Katrina kaif has started working from the age of 14 & She's the biggest female superstar just because of her sheer hardwork & honesty towards her work! No one have Right to say that tujhe kon dekhega, hum to sooryavanshi Katrina ke liye hi dkenge SHAME ON YOU ROHIT SHETTY” while another one was seen commenting, “1st lead actor & now director of film demeaned katrina kaif with his derogatory remark. Today we all should talk abt equality & woman empowerment but as long as these misogynist utter such shit then there's no point of women's day.”
Sooryavanshi is set to release on March 24, 2019.
