Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last today in Chennai. He had been diagnosed with Coronavirus in August and he had been seeking treatment for the same at a hospital in Chennai. His son SP Charan who had kept his fans updated about his health ever since he was hospitalized informed the media about his father's death at 1:04 pm. The singer is survived by his wife Savitri, daughter Pallavi and son SP Charan. This news got the entertainment industry mourning and paying their last tribute to the legendary singer on social media platforms.

Music legend AR Rahman sharing a throwback picture wrote, “Devastated.” Akshay Kumar paying his last tribute to Balasubrahmanyam recalled his recent virtual interaction amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. Aditi Rao Hydari too penned a condolence message for his family. Boney Kapoor in his Tweet mentioned the late singer's massive contribution to the music industry with 17000 songs crooned in 17 languages. Thanking him for the music and praying for his soul to rest in peace, Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, “हम बने तुम बने -एक दूजे के लिए। #SPBalasubrahmanyam ji -thank you for the amazing music: -with a heavy heart I say...साथिया या तूने क्या किया? Rest in glory Sir. Condolences to the family, loved ones & millions of fans world over.”
