On the 56th birthday of Sridevi, Penguin Random House India
announced a book on the Indian cinema legend. The book titled Sridevi: Girl
Woman Superstar, has been written by author-screenwriter Satyarth Nayak. This
morning, we brought you the sweet wishes of daughter Janhvi Kapoor and husband
and filmmaker Boney Kapoor. On her 56th birthday, Vidya Balan took to social
media and shared the cover page of the book.
Sharing the monochrome picture Vidya wrote, “I am honoured and delighted to officially launch the Cover of the Penguin book on the iconic Sridevi on her 56th birthday today. Congratulations to author @SatyarthNayak, dear @BoneyKapoor sir and the @PenguinIndia mavericks @mileeashwarya and @film_worm.”

Speaking on the book, the author told Indian Express, “I have always been a huge admirer of Sridevi and this book gave me the perfect opportunity to celebrate the journey of India’s beloved screen goddess. It was wonderful interacting with various film personalities that she worked with over the years, and put together their memories and stories into a narrative that charts her saga from a child star to India’s first female superstar.”

Approved by Boney Kapoor, the book will be written by author
and screenwriter Satyarth Nayak and will be published under the Ebury Press
imprint of Penguin Random House in October 2019.
