Street Dancer 3D Vs Step Up: 5 Similarities Between Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor's Gig And Hollywood's Famed Dance Franchise
We just saw the trailer of Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer 3D where the team brings out a different angle to hip-hop and street dancing which has pumped up our excitement. Though the netizens are going gaga over the trailer, one can’t miss the striking similarity between Street Dancer 3D and Step 2 and 3. Scroll down and check out what we are talking about
DISCLAIMER: THIS ARTICLE IS BASIS ON THEIR DANCING AND NOT THE STORY. Well, a disclaimer is kind of needed here because sometimes comparisons do become a topic of discussion. Coming to our story, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor recently showcased the first trailer of Street Dancer 3D and hands down, the level of dance we have seen in ABCD and the second part is nothing compared to what we have seen in this trailer. After seeing the trailer, we are sure that we are in to witness some epic battle of dances and we all are super pumped up. Nevertheless, after watching the trailer, we have found some striking similarities between Street Dancer 3D and Step 2 and 3. From dancing in the rain to shaking a leg on the streets and finally on the big stage, we did spot a lot of similarities.
Talking about similarity, when Remo D’Souza’s ABCD was released, a lot of them compared the films to the Step Up franchise and well, we do think the same for this film as well. Without wasting your time any further, here you go.
The Rain Dance: Looks like the rain dance is Remo’s favourite. The same dance we saw it during Bezubaan song in the first and the second part. Yet again, we see a rain dance in Street Dancer 3D which looks quite similar to the dance battle we saw in Step 3. A similar dance we even saw during Step Up 2’s final dance. Here are the videos below, in case, you guys haven’t seen it.
Smoke Or Powder Dance: If you look at Street Dancer 3D closely, there’s a step where they dancing with smoke that is of tricolour while there’s another scene where Dharmesh is seen dancing with powder sort of thing is seen in the air as he is dancing. This concept is a bit inspired by Step Up 2.
The Dance Inside The Auditorium: In Street Dancer 3D, the final showdown, the lights and stage looks very similar to Step Up 3. We know that is the common thing we see in all dance movies but the way it projected seemed pretty inspired.
The Carnival Dance: At the end of the trailer of Street Dancer 3D we see Varun and Shraddha dancing in a mela sort of place, well, we did a similar scene in Step Up Revolution. But the only difference is that they are dancing in a mela, in Step Up, they were dancing at the Beach party.
The Fire Dance: There’s one scene in Street Dancer 3D where Nora Fatehi and her crew are seen dancing with fire which is again inspired by Step Up: All In.
Talking about Street Dancer 3D, the film also stars Dharmesh, Punit Pathak, Salman Yusuf and Prabhudheva. The film is slated to release on January 24, 2020.
