COVID-19 pandemic has brought the entire world together, funds were raised by almost all the nations in order to help the human race fight this novel Coronavirus which got the world to a standstill. Coming to Bollywood stars who are on their toes donating and lending their helping hand to the frontline workers such as doctors, policeman, sanitation staff and more, one of them to raise a query today was filmmaker Subhash Ghai. The filmmaker in his latest tweet directed a query to the honourable PM Narendra Modi.

In his Tweet, he mentioned about this tragic time which has affected the world and our country adversely. He asked a question that isn’t it right for all the temples to donate funds to the government. He also suggested in his tweet that these temples should think about donating 90% of their gold donated by devotees for the ones in need.  The filmmaker's tweet read, “IS IT NOT A RIGHT TIME TO REACH TEMPLES OF OUR GODS?  When All rich temples with huge gold reserve shud surrender to govt n donate 90% of its gold to serve poor people under stress since they got it from people only in name of GODS?  @PMOIndia”

This tweet of the filmmaker though saw some supporting him and also urging churches and mosques to join the league, but as usual, some ended up slamming him.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the filmmaker had shared the film industry hit by huge losses due to the lockdown. He said, “I can't deny that the [lockdown] has affected us financially. It was a major setback for us, but we will fight this out together. We are waiting for the cinemas to re-open; we will release the film again.”
