Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari Featuring Manoj Bajpayee And Diljit Dosanjh To Release In PVR Cinemas
The big breakthrough for the deadlock faced by movie theatres for new content post-lockdown. Abhishek Sharma’s comedy  Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari featuring Manoj Bajpayee and  Dilijit Dosanjh will release in movie theatres on  November 15,  two days after it streams on Zee 5.

Though this may not seem like much of a  breakthrough for the crippled movie theatre business, and it is unlikely that movie patrons will step out of their homes to watch the film in cinema halls two days after its premiere on the  OTT platform, the release of a new film in theatres after the COVID  lockdown is a healthy optimistic sign for the movie business.

While the  PVR chain and the Cinepolis group have already confirmed that Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari will open in their theatres from November 15, the other multiplex chains are yet to make the announcement. APVR source told this writer, “It’s all very sudden. And we’re not yet  aware  of what the deal for profit-sharing between  movie theatres and  the digital  platform is.”

Just sometime back we got you trade expert's opinion on how not only Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari but Akshay Kumar's Laxmii is expected to fair. Akshay Rathi (film exhibitor) had said, “All of them are very exciting in their own way! Laxmmi has Akshay Kumar offering some hardcore mass entertainment and the songs have become chartbuster too! Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari and Chhalang look like films with great comic appeal and the feelgood factor, something that the audience needs after the gloom that the last 8 months have brought in. Ludo has an incredible ensemble of actors who would be fantastic in a trademark Anurag Ba narrative. Which would I pay money to see? The one which releases in a theatre!"
