In the days following Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, there was a social media outrage with people demanding justice for the late actor, claiming that there may have been more to his suicide and that a thorough investigation should be done. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had stated that while the post mortem report stated it was a suicide, Mumbai Police will also probe the case with ‘professional rivalry’ angle. Yesterday, Rhea Chakraborty was summoned by the Mumbai Police and was interrogated for about 11 hours. Now, reports state that Mumbai police may summon Aditya Chopra.
According to ABP Live, Aditya Chopra, the chairman and managing director of Yash Raj Films may be summoned by the Mumbai Police to record his statement. It was also reported yesterday in India Today that Mumbai Police has written to Yash Raj Films demanding copies of the contract with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Police are investigating Sushant’s suicide and hence have written to YRF for copies of the contract with the late actor.
Sushant Singh Rajput did Byomkesh Bakshi and Shudh Desi Romance with YRF under his 3-Film deal, however, the third film Paani was shelved after months of prep. During the 11 months, Sushant hadn’t signed any other film and reportedly let go of films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela, Befikre as he had committed his dates to Paani.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Rhea Chakraborty was questioned by the Mumbai Police, and according to a report in Pinkvilla, she was asked about her and Sushant Singh Rajput’s relationship, the late actor’s alleged depression, his films and projects, among other things.
