Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, 2020. Ever since then, Bollywood has been in the bad light. First the film industry and its bigwigs were slammed for nepotism prevailing in the industry, and now many big names have got attached to the alleged drugs nexus of B-town. From Deepika Padukone to Sara Ali Khan, names of many actresses are on the list of the Narcotics Control Bureau. Earlier, it was Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik Chakraborty who were arrested by the NCB. Amidst all of this, the investigating agency's chief has come down to Mumbai.
Reportedly, the Narcotics Control Bureau Chief Rakesh Asthana came down to Mumbai from Delhi on Sunday. As he touched down Mumbai, he is said to have met several officers investigating the case. On Sunday, he was briefed on the two drug cases NCB registered last month after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the agency about alleged drug-chats of Bollywood stars, as reported by IANS. He also took the run down of the latest developments in the case by the NCB's SIT.
It was on Saturday that the actresses - Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were interrogated by the Narcotics Control Bureau. Deepika was questioned over her alleged drugs-chat with manager Karishma Prakash while Shraddha and Sara were reportedly quizzed about their connection with Sushant Singh Rajput and drugs.
