Actress Rhea Chakraborty lands in trouble again! According to the latest media reports, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed draft charges against Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others in connection with a drugs case linked to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. On Wednesday, the agency filed draft charges against the sibling duo before a special court. In 2020, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the agency in a drugs case linked to SSR’s death.
PTI reported that all the charges mentioned in the charge sheet have been maintained by the prosecution. Special public prosecutor Atul Sarpande reportedly claimed that the court “initially scheduled to frame charges against the accused but a few of them had moved discharge applications. The report added that the prosecution has proposed the court charge Rhea and Showik for consumption of narcotic substances and also for procuring and paying for such substances for Sushant. The next hearing in the case will take place on July 12.
For the unversed, on June 14, 2020, Sushant was found dead at his residence in Bandra. His sudden demise sent shockwaves across the entire film industry and made many investigating agencies probe his death case from different angles. A drug case was allegedly linked to the actor’s death and following this many people got arrested. The Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau did separate investigations into the case. Sushant's girlfriend Rhea was arrested in the case and was granted bail almost a month later.
