Sushant Singh Rajput's Girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty's Brother Showik’s Bail Plea Hearing Today
Rhea Chakraborty brother’s Showik Chakraborty’s bail plea hearing is scheduled for today. Showik was arrested in drug probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case
After being arrested by the Narcotic Control Bureau on the drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Rhea Chakraborty was released from jail on October 7 while her brother Showik Chakraborty continued to be in NCB’s custody. After spending almost 28 days in Byculla jail, Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea. However, brother Showik’s bail plea was rejected by the court on the same day and his custody was extended till October 20, i.e., today. Now, Showik’s bail plea hearing is scheduled today.
According to a report in Free Press Journal, Bombay HC in its previous hearing had said while rejecting Showik’s bail plea, “The applicant (Showik) was facilitating procurement of drugs from one party for supplying them to Sushant Singh Rajput. He was clearly involved in illicit trafficking or illegal trade of drugs. The applicant appears to be an important link in the chain of drug dealers. He was in touch with different dealers. He had monetary transactions with them.”
Rhea Chakraborty and Showik were arrested in August in the alleged drug case by the NCB. In the WhatsApp chats, accessed by the NCB, the officials revealed that Showik was not only the user but was also in touch with the drug-peddler and has been a supplier too.

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty can’t leave Mumbai without NCB officials’ permission. Rhea’s passport has also been sealed. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14 and it was recently AIIMS doctors ruled out murder. NCB made a few arrests linked to the drug probe linked to SSR’s death.
