Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death Case: Flatmate Siddharth Pithani Files For Bail Before Special Court-REPORT

After the sudden and untimely demise of Hindi film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been investigating an alleged drugs nexus in Bollywood. They summoned several B-Town biggies in the case and arrested a few too. It was in May 2021, that late Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend and flatmate Siddharth Pithani was arrested by the NCB. According to a new report, in a significant development in the drugs case, Pithani has approached the special court for bail.
According to a report in the Indian Express, Siddharth Pithani, who was arrested in a drugs case has filed for bail before the special court, again. As per the report, this is Pithani’s first bail plea on merits. The report mentioned that his plea states that there was no recovery of any contraband from him and there is no incriminating material to suggest that he is or was involved in dealings of any narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances.
As per the report, the plea mentioned that while the NCB had depended on statements of SSR’s house manager and cook to claim that he purchased ganja, they had retracted their statements and were thus inadmissible as evidence. The bail plea also mentioned that the house manager and cook were released on bail with other accused in the case, from whom no recoveries were made, as per the report. The report further mentioned that Pithani also claimed that he was absconding is not true. Adding further, the report said that as per the bail plea, he was available before several investigating agencies from June to September last year. In his plea, it was added that he was thereafter at his home in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, it was only last month when Pithani was allowed interim bail for 15 days. The court had issued the bail order for his marriage. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020. He was found dead in his Mumbai residence.
