Bollywood lost a gem when actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020. The actor is deeply missed by fans, well-wishers and close ones. After the sudden and untimely demise of SSR, a few months later, the court ordered a CBI probe in the case. While the investigation continues, SSR’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty filed an FIR against the actor’s sisters Meetu and Priyanka Singh, accusing their involvement in his death. In a significant development in the FIR filed by actor Rhea Chakraborty against SSR’s sisters, according to a report from Bar & Bench, the Bombay HC praised the late actor.

On Thursday, the Bombay HC started the hearing on the plea made by the sisters challenging the FIR filed by Rhea. During the hearing, Vikas Singh, representing SSR’s sisters made his arguments. Later, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde also made his arguments on behalf of the actress. During the hearing, Maneshinde pointed to SSR’s household mixing up narcotics substances with medicines that the actor was taking. Talking about the prescribed medicines to Sushant, Maneshinde said, “My complaint is in relation to a forged prescription of medicines. The circumstances that I am pointing out that should also be examined. His family is concerned with the cause if his death.” He added, “ So if this leads to finding answers, then what is the harm? They say I am responsible, I am giving a different circumstances for investigation.” Maneshinde concluded his submissions by stating that he had to approach the Mumbai police because the CBI is not a filling station. 

After the submissions of the lawyers, Justice SS Shinde, who presided the bench made oral remarks. Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, Justice Shinde said, “Whatever the case...from Sushant Singh Rajput's face one could make out that he was innocent and sober...and a good human being.” The court also mentioned how everybody liked the late actor especially in his film M S Dhoni and said, “Everybody liked him especially in that M S Dhoni film." Finally, the court reserved its judgement.



Meanwhile, the FIR that Chakraborty lodged was filed against Priyanka Singh, Meetu Singh and doctor Tarun Kumar of Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia hospital on September 7. As per the complaint, the sisters and the doctor got a forged and fabricated prescription made for anti-depressants for their brother.
