During a chat with Sonal Kalra at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2023, Sushmita Sen reflected on her illustrious film career and disclosed the rationale behind her choice to step away from acting after 2015. Speaking about it the former Miss India said, “The reason I left films was because I was tired of doing the same 2001 expression to 2010. That was all I had to do. There was one good song and so on. I was looking for more. As I was getting older, I was not happy with that. I wanted more, I wanted to be a student again. In the same discussion, Sushmita shared insights into her highly successful comeback project, Aarya, and explained how she underwent an extensive learning process in preparation for it, akin to someone new to acting. She expressed her enthusiasm for the 21-day-long educational journey, saying, "That's what Aarya did for me. I would participate in a 14-hour workshop, while other actors came and went, but I remained a constant presence, eager to absorb knowledge. I would return home very late at night every day, for 21 days. And I relished it, relished the fact that I was finally honing my craft."
