After being declared tax free in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, Ajay Devgn’s production venture titled Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior goes tax-free in Maharashtra. The announcement came on Wednesday, after former CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis had written to the current CM of the state Uddhav Thackeray, demanding that the movie be made tax free, along with few other members. The movie has already crossed Rs.150 crore mark at the box office, after it was released on the silver screen on January 10, 2020. 

Now taking to his Twitter account actor-producer Ajay Devgn has thanked the Maharashtra CM for this announcement. His tweet read, “Thank you Uddhav Thackeray ji for declaring #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior tax-free in the state of Maharashtra. @OfficeofUT @CMOMaharashtra” This flick marks the first film in the unsung heroes series which will be seen backed by the actor in the upcoming days. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior narrated the story of a Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare belonging to the troops of brave king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The movie also marked the reunion of Kajol and Ajay on the silver screen after a long time. Kajol played his onscreen wife Savitribai Malusare. Also seen was actor Saif Ali Khan playing Ajay’s onscreen rival, the actor played Udaybhan, being by the side of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
