Zoya Akhtar announces her next project and says 'Archie and the Crew are about to get down and desi'
Zoya Akhtar made her fans happy as she announced her next project 'The Archies' on Thursday. She will be directing the Indian adaptation of the Archie Comics for Netflix. Sharing the good news, she wrote in the caption, "Archie and the Crew are about to get Down and Desi! "The Archies" A coming-of-age musical drama directed by me. Coming soon to Netflix!"
As soon as she shared the news, celebrities expressed their excitement about The Archies in the comments section. Deepika Padukone wrote, "LOVE." Hrithik Roshan commented, "Woah woah woah." Shibani Dandekar wrote, "So cool." Shobita Dhulipala dropped a comment saying, "This is going to be so fun!" Abishek Bachchan, Amrita Arora, Karan Johar and Karan Tacker also rooted for her.
She did not reveal any details about the cast. However, as per a report in Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda will make their debut with the film. A couple of weeks ago, Boney Kapoor had reacted to the rumours of Khushi starring in the film. An ETimes report quoted him saying, "I don't know anything about this. I don't know what you are talking about."
Khushi and Suhana are active on social media. Both enjoy great popularity. They aspire to become actors. Agastya, on the other hand, is equally popular and a fan of Zoya's work. Last year, in August, Shweta Bachchan shared a picture of her handsome son posing with Zoya Akhtar. Sharing the picture, she wrote in the caption, "Fan boy". Given the buzz around their debut, many can't wait to know if it's true.
