Ace comedian Kapil Sharma has been receiving backlash from several netizens after director Vivek Agnihotri publicly claimed that he and the cast of his film 'The Kashmir Files' were not invited to The Kapil Sharma Show to promote the film because it does not have a big star. Last week, the Comedy King rubbished all such claims and advised everyone to not believe in the 'one sided' story. Now actor Anupam Kher has reacted to these claims made by Vivek and clarified that Kapil had invited him two months ago to promote this film on his show.
In a recent interview, the actor explained that he had refused to go because he believes that film is a serious one to be discussed on a comedy show. Kapil Sharma shared a video of Anupam Kher revealing the same in an interview on his Twitter handle and thanked him for clarifying "false allegations" against him. The comedian wrote, “Thank you paji @anupampkher for clarifying all the false allegations against me और उन सब दोस्तों का भी शुक्रिया जिन्होंने बिना सच जाने मुझे इतनी मोहब्बत दी खुश रहिए, मुस्कुराते रहिये #thekapilsharmashow #Isupportmyself #kapilsharma (Thanks to all those friends who gave me immense love without knowing the truth. Stay happy and keep smiling).” ALSO READ: ‘Boycott Kapil Sharma Show’ Trends As The Kashmir Files Not Given Promotion Opportunity, Vivek Agnihotri Says, ‘They Refuse To Call Us Because We Don’t Have A Big Star’
Earlier, Vivek Agnihotri had written on Twitter, “I don’t get to decide who should be invited on @KapilSharmaK9 show. It’s his and his producer’s choice whom he wants to invite. As far as Bollywood is concerned, I’d say what once Mr. Bachchan was quoted saying about Gandhis: Vo raja hai hum rank.” His tweet came after a fan had requested Agnihotri to promote his film on The Kapil Sharma Show.
On a related note, The Kashmir Files, based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits, traced the real-life and tragic incidents of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus in the valley. It starred Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead roles and was released on March 11, 2022.
