The Real Reason Why Yeh Saali Aashiqui Moved Out Of Pagalpanti’s Way: ‘We Were Not Ready,’ Says Producer- EXCLUSIVE
Amrish Puri’s grandson Vardhan Puri marks his debut with the film Yeh Saali Aashiqui. The film which was supposed to hit the big screens on Nov 22 has been postponed by a week and will now release on Nov 29. Several speculations suggested that the makers wanted to avoid clashing with Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti that releases on Nov 22. But, the producer of Yeh Saali Aashiqui states that they just needed the right time to release their product.

We called up Vardhan Puri who echoed a similar sentiment. However, he was quick to add that it was Jayantilal Gada’s call, the producer.

We then called up Gada who was frank and forthcoming. He said, “It’s not for Pagalpanti. We are not scared of the film. We knew we were releasing with it beforehand. The truth is that we were not ready, because this film has been largely made by newcomers. So we were not ready to roll it out. Our prints wouldn’t have reached in time.”

Well, this isn’t the first time that the makers of Yeh Saali Aashiqui had to push ahead the release date of their film. Earlier, the film was titled Paagal and was slated to release in July, but it ran into trouble back then with the CBFC owing to the word ‘Paagal’.

So, the makers had no choice but to change the title from Paagal to Yeh Saali Aashiqui and the new release date of Nov 22 was announced. But, it seems they want to be extra cautious about their film and hence, pushed it ahead. Directed by Cherag Ruparel, the film also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi in lead role.

So that’s that!
