Speaking at the trailer launch event of Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Karan Johar reveals his first friend he made in Bollywood
Ace filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Anil Kapoor have teamed up together for the first time in the upcoming film 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'. Recently, the trailer of the film was launched at a grand event in Mumbai where they both stole the show with their strong camaraderie. Speaking at the launch, KJo revealed that Anil was the first friend he made in Bollywood. He also reflected back on his first B-Town starry party and recalled how Anil helped him and Aditya Chopra at the party where no one was talking to them.
While introducing the Mr. India actor on the stage, Karan stated Anil was a superstar at the time and he only hung out with him and Aditya at the party. The director said, “Undoubtedly my first friend in the business, and I mean that. Me and Aditya Chopra were at a party once and no one was talking to us. Karan Johar added, “From then on, I felt love for him, and that love just grew into more love, respect remained, but the fact that he is the youngest man even today and works with the energy of a millennial, just speaks for itself. There is nobody, and I repeat nobody that can match the energy of this outstanding artist.” Notably, Karan and Anil hugged on the stage and shared their excitement about working together.
On a related note, directed by Raj Mehta Jug Jugg Jeeyo has been bankrolled by Dharma Productions and stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli. Anil will be seen sharing the silver space with Neetu in the film, which marks her return to acting. Jug Jugg Jeeyo will hit the theatres on June 24 this year.
