THROWBACK! Saif Ali Khan Breaks Silence About His Ex-Wife Amrita Singh Not Allowing Him To Meet His Kids, Sara And Ibrahim!

Saif Ali Khan is known to be one of the best fathers in tinsel town, and he is often seen doing the best for his children. He is also known to be a protective father for both Sara and Ibrahim too, making him the perfect dad. However, things weren’t always in his favour.
Bollywood has witnessed a slew of celebrity divorces and while some decided to end their marriage mutually, Saif Ali Khan and his former wife Amrita Singh were involved in a nasty argument.
The former lovers eloped to marry in 1991 and called it quits after 13 years of marriage. Their divorce was one of the most talked-about topics in the tinsel town. The two were reportedly evolved in a nasty fight for alimony and an unfortunate custody battle.
Following their divorce in 2004, Saif Ali Khan had to pay a hefty alimony of over 5 crores to his ex-wife, Amrita Singh and also take up the responsibility of managing the expenses of their kids, Sara and Ibrahim until they turned 18.
Moreover, the reports suggested that the court granted custody of his kids to his ex-wife, with only visitation rights granted to him. In a previous interview with Telegraph, Saif had revealed how Amrita refused him to meet his kids and even barred them from coming to meet and spend time with him.
Saif Ali Khan said, “I’m not allowed to meet my children. They aren’t allowed to come to visit me, let alone stay with me. Why? Because there’s a new woman in my life who’d influence my children against their mother? That’s so much hogwash and Amrita knows it. Right now, my kids are growing up with Amrita’s relatives and maidservants while she’s out working in a TV serial. Why does she need to do that, when I’m more than willing to support my family?”
During the same interview, Saif claimed that Amrita tainted his image wrongly for being an irresponsible father. He mentioned how in reality, despite his attempts to provide for his kids, Amrita was not ready to let him come close to them.
Reflecting on how he truly misses his children Sara and Ibrahim, Saif told Telegraph, ““My wife and I have gone our separate ways. I respect my wife’s space. But why am I being constantly reminded of how terrible a husband I was, and how awful a father I am? I’ve my son Ibrahim’s photograph in my wallet. Each time I look at it, I feel like crying. I miss my daughter Sara all the time.”
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s divorce grabbed headlines owing to the alimony amount of Rs 5 crores. The situation took a turn for the worst since the actor underwent a severe financial crunch.
