THROWBACK! When Katrina Kaif Spoke About Her Breakup With Ranbir Kapoor; Said, ‘I Don’t Have Any Regrets’

Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor were, once upon a time, one of the IT couples in the entertainment industry. They became the talk of the town after their comedy movie Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), became a hit among the masses. Not only did fans get to see another side of the actor, but their chemistry and on-screen presence was widely praised by the audience as well as the critics. It broke their hearts when reports suggested that the duo had broken up.
It has been a few days since Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor had taken to social media to post an Instagram story that came across as an indirect dig at her son’s ex-girlfriends. Hitting back at her even Katrina’s mother had shared a cryptic post about respect. In an interaction with Mid-Day, she had revealed that if she had spoken about the breakup earlier, she would have sounded rude. So all she did was share the bare minimum about what had happened, while being frank about accepting the reality. She had added that they still respected each other which will never change. She had gone on to share that it was during that breakup, that she had realised her life was out in the open. Quoted by Koimoi, she said, “When I was going through a separation, one of my sisters was also in the same phase. That’s when I realised that since my life was out in the open, the ego was more bruised, but at the end of the day, we both felt the same pain. I found solace in reading. My friends were also a strong source of support. I don’t have any regrets (about that chapter). I have come out of the experience a lot more mature. ”
For the unversed, Ranbir and Katrina dated for a few years and then parted ways. While the actor went on to get married to Alia Bhatt and welcomed their daughter Raha in November 2022, Katrina tied the knot with Vicky Kaushal in an intimate ceremony. On the work front, Katrina has movies like Tiger 3, Jee Le Zaraa and Merry Christmas in her pipeline and Ranbir will be next seen in Animal and Brahmastra trilogy.
