THROWBACK: When Sherlyn Chopra Was Questioned By Police About Her Relation With Shilpa Shetty’s Husband Raj Kundra In Pornography Case

Last year, Bollywood actress Sherlyn Chopra made headlines after she was questioned by Mumbai Police in pornography case related to businessman Raj Kundra. For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty’s husband was arrested in a pornography racket case for allegedly uploading porn films on mobile applications. During investigation, Sherlyn was called by Police in the same case to record her statement. Back then she appeared before the property cell of the Mumbai crime branch and was questioned for 8 hours.
In August, 2021, Sherlyn grabbed the limelight owing to this case. After recording her statement, the actress spoke to media and revealed that she was asked about her relation with Raj Kundra and about the other companies he owned. Chopra had revealed that she was summoned by the investigating officer of the property cell under section 160 CRPC. She was asked to share information about Raj Kundra and she told them whatever she was aware of. The Kamasutra actress also mentioned that during the interrogation she was even asked about her agreement with Armsprime, the terms and conditions of the contract and about videos she shot with them.
“They also asked, ‘How were my relations with Raj Kundra’ and what about the other companies owned by him, do you have any information about them? The whole day was spent sharing the information. Even I asked if there are any more questions, please ask as I want justice for all the women, artists who have been victims of this pornography racket. The property cell officers told me that this is not a vendetta against any person but we want to bust this pornography racket. So, I want to request everyone through your medium (media/news) that if anyone knows anything related to this racket, please come forward and share the information with the police,” Sherlyn had further stated.
Reportedly, Sherlyn Chopra was the first person to record her statement to Maharashtra Cyber Cell in this case. For the unversed, Raj Kundra was granted bail in September 2021 after spending two months in jail. Since then he has been maintaining a low profile in media and is often spotted in Mumbai donning a face shield.
