Varun Dhawan Gets Emotional Upon His Aunt's Sad Demise, 'Love You Maa Si'; Sonam Kapoor, Malaika Arora Offer Condolences

We are halfway through 2020 but let's just say that it has been no less than a nightmare so far. Every day people are waking up to some of the other tragic news. Something similar was the case of Varun Dhawan recently. The Judwaa 2 actor, through an emotional social media post, announced the demise of his mother's sister AKA maasi some hours ago. And as soon as the actor posted the heartbeat news, he was flooded with condolences messages from his fans and friends across the film industry.
The throwback picture shared by Varun Dhawan sees him tightly hugging his maasi. In his caption, the 33-year- old expressed his emotions by writing a heartwarming message for the departed soul, along with the Hindi verses of the Gayatri Mantra. He wrote, "Love you maa si rip," followed by a heart and the holy verse. A lot of people from Bollywood like Malaika Arora, Sonam Kapoor, Nushrat Bharucha, Dia Mirza, Sonal Chauhan, Swara Bhasker and Mouni Roy among others poured in their love for the actor and prayed for his maasi's soul.
Sonam wrote, "Omg. I'm so sorry, Varun Dhawan," Sophie responded writing, "So sorry for your loss, Varun Dhawan. Love and prayers to the family. May her soul rest in peace."

On the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in Street Dancer 3D. His next, Coolie No.1, was scheduled to release earlier this month but it has been postponed in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
