Veeru Devgan Death Anniversary: Ajay Devgn Gets Emotional Remembering Late Father, 'I Can Feel You Beside Me'
A year ago from today, Ajay Devgn had lost his father Veeru Devgan to cardiac arrest. The late action director has been the actor's pillar and support system throughout. And on his first anniversary, Ajay Devgn took to his social media to pay tribute to his father through an emotional Instagram post. The video shared by Ajay Devgn is a compilation of some of his unseen pictures from the best moments that he had spent with Veeru Devgan. He also penned a heartwarming note and remembered the veteran.

The video features a streak of monochromatic pictures of Veeru Devgan and Ajay Devgn from various occasions; be it an outing, from a film's set, photoshoots or just their delightful candid moments. The background music was soothing to ears. In his caption, Ajay Devgn wrote how Veeru Devgan might not be physically around, but he still feels his 'quiet, caring and protective' presence beside him and that it's forever reassuring. Ajay Devgn shared a very close bond with his father and that it shall remain the same forever.

Ajay's caption read, "Dear Dad, it’s a year since you left. However, I can feel you beside me—quiet, caring, protective; your presence is forever reassuring."

In an earlier interview with HT, Ajay Devgn had labelled his father Veeru as the ultimate Singham of his life. He was quoted saying, "The Singham in my life can only be my father. Because he is a man who came to Bombay at that point in time with Rs 4 in his pocket, wanting to become something, struggled, washed and lived in taxis so he could live here, did not eat food for eight days at times, worked so hard, became a street fighter from there till Mr Ravi Khanna saw him one day asking him whether he would become a fight director. From there, his growth from nowhere to become India’s topmost action director is remarkable.”
