Verdict On Salman’s 1998 Arms Act Case To Be Announced On January 18
In a few days from now, the Jodhpur District Sessions Court will announce its verdict on Salman Khan's 19-year-old Arms Act case. The court of chief judicial magistrate fixed the date after the final arguments from both sides were completed this morning.

Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit has directed Salman to be present in the court during pronouncement of the order.

For those who have come in late, here's what happened: A case was registered against Salman under the Arms Act for alleged possession and use of arms with expired license during poaching of two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, at village Kankani near Jodhpur in October, 1998.

The superstar was shooting Hum Saath Saath Hain when the incident occurred. While the lower court found him guilty, he was acquitted by the High Court. Now that the case is in the Supreme Court's purview, this decision will be final i.e Salman would either be convicted or walk free, yet again.

If convicted, the superstar could face imprisonment for seven years. However, if he manages to walk free in this Arms Act case, it will have a huge impact on the other two cases running on him. Apart from the blackbuck poaching case, Salman’s 2002 hit-and-run is pending at the apex Indian court.
