Veteran Actress Mumtaz REFUSES To Be A Part Of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi; 'She Is In No Mood For A Comeback' -Report
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi has been making headlines ever since it was announced. SLB had earlier said that he is nervous yet excited about his web show. The cast is yet to be announced. And according to a latest report, SLB had approached the super-iconic yesteryears' actress Mumtaz. However, she declined the offer as she is in no mood for a comeback.

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying, "A huge fan of the iconic actress, who regaled us in many blockbusters in the 1960 and 1970s, SLB had approached her, but she is in no mood for a comeback. She has said no to an offer to play a prominent part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's lavish costume drama Heera Mandi for Netflix."

The report further revealed that the veteran actress was offered a pivotal role which required her to perform an elaborate Mujra. The report further states that the first season will have 7 episodes of one hour each. The first episode is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He may also direct the second and closing episode of the show.

Talking about the web show, SLB had earlier said in a statement, "Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first of its kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world."
