Vicky Kaushal Starrer Immortal Ashwatthama Has Not Been Shelved; Aditya Dhar Film Is Only Delayed By A Few Months-REPORT
It was recently reported that the film Immortal Ashwatthama, directed by Aditya Dhar, was shelved. But that's not true.
Aditya Dhar's new directorial venture, Immortal Ashwatthama starring actor Vicky Kaushal has been in the news since its inception. Only recently, it was reported that the film has been shelved due to budget constraints. The report mentioned that the Vicky Kaushal starrer was shelved as it had to be inevitably pushed due to several other factors. But it looks like it was not true.
According to a new report in Pinkvilla.com, the ambitious sci-fi film has not been shelved. The movie is however delayed by a few months. The report revealed that due to the ongoing pandemic situation and the impact on theatres, the makers felt the need to re-analyse the budget, including the portion dedicated to the VFX of the film. The source close to the development informed, “Looking at the ongoing situation because of the pandemic and its impact on the theatres and the industry, the makers felt the need to re-analyse the budget of the film, including the portion dedicated to the VFX for the movie. So they are reworking on that now, and need some time for that. The Immortal Ashwatthama is a dream project for the makers, and they want to make it the right way."
The report even mentioned that Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan have stopped the preps for the film. The actors will resume prep once everything is streamlined.
As it was earlier reported that the cast and crew of Immortal Ashwatthama are awaiting travel clearance, the report explained how the makers are finding it difficult to find appropriate shoot locations. “There were also some Visa issues, so they felt it best to delay the film for now. Reportedly, Suniel Shetty and Jaideep Ahlawat were also in talks with the makers to play pivotal roles in the movie.
Immortal Ashwatthama’s first look was released in January 2021, by Ronnie Screwvala's production house. This is Aditya Dhar's second collaboration with Vicky Kaushal after the film URI: The Surgical Strike.
